The fears that aren't so adorable are fireworks, thunderstorms, windstorms, and power outages. A couple of years ago we had a terrible windstorm – our power was out for a week. On the day of the storm, the fence that surrounds the dogs' yard came down, and while Sydney and Scout ran into the house, Rodrigo ran out of their yard, and Zoey followed (always his shadow). Since losing Blue, J has developed this uncanny sense of “I better go check on the dogs” and left work early. So Rodrigo and Zoey weren't out in the storm for long, but since that day Rodrigo has been terrified whenever the wind blows hard or the power goes out.
Most people when they hear hemp, automatically associate it with Marijuana. While both Marijuana and hemp originate from the same Cannabis Sativa L. plant, they vary greatly in their genetic makeup, usage, and cultivation. Marijuana is formulated to have large concentrations of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) that leads to a psychoactive “high effect”. On the other hand, hemp’s levels of THC is minuscule and does not have any mind-altering effects on the body.
Canna-pet claims to have invented the hemp-nutrition pet market, and brings more than thirty years of research into their products. Canna-pet also has a huge variety of treats and oils available, and they even have their very own “Hemp Science for Dogs” book available on their website, to help teach interested pet parents about the many benefits that hemp-based treats and supplements can have on their dog’s health.
One CBD treatment that surprises many pet owners is the fact that it is sometimes used to treat dogs who suffer from seizures. Products with high levels of CBD can help manage seizures brought upon by epilepsy or other genetic disorders. There have been numerous cases of cannabis helping manage, and over time reducing, the frequency of seizures in humans and animals.

The dosage is one treat per 25 pounds of body weight. Rodrigo weighs 65 pounds, so I gave him two dog treats. And since I was handing out treats, the other dogs lined up as well – two per dog (although Sydney and Scout should have had three each). And, as I stated, 30 minutes later, the dogs were all dozing on their beds (what dog mom's office doesn't have dog beds?) and slept soundly through the night despite the fireworks.
The bodies of most mammals contain native receptors for cannabinoids. These receptors in the brain run throughout the nervous system. From there, they influence the workings of internal organs and systems. Their function is to regulate and govern things as diverse as memory, emotional states, pain tolerance, and hunger. For patients — human or canine — who experience excessive pain, anxiety, or lack of appetite, CBD supplements may be useful in providing relief from these symptoms.
You can find or buy cbd for dogs as it has become prevalent nowadays and for some good reason. Even though most veterinarians would not openly recommend using them because CBD is reasonably new to the market, the medical marijuana industry is starting to rise. Their reach has expanded not only to humans but also to animals and pets. Owing to the fantastic success of medical marijuana more people are now looking forward to using them to give the relief that their pets need the most.

In order to make that CBD into an easily ingestible material, researchers have found ways to condense it down into an oil, which can then be added to food or swallowed directly. This oil, known as hemp oil, is produced by a variety of manufacturers, and as legalization takes place in more and more states the market seems to be growing exponentially, and even more big names are getting into the ring. Each of these brands will also produce several different kinds of hemp oil, but if you are looking for the natural, plant-based oil that will bring about the most relief, keep your eye out for phytocannabinoid hemp oil. Other CBD oils might be made in a lab.
That is why your pet’s mental and physical state are both major factors to their overall health and well-being. Now how can you ensure optimal mental and physical health for your pet? Joey, I don’t know if your gf and Phoebe has went on their trip, but everything that I’ve read it takes about 2 weeks for CBD to build up in a dogs system and since your dog is a shitzu I would suggest a 1.5mg bag of treats from where ever you get them from. She is a smaller dog and there are 2 dosages I’ve seen. 1.5mg for dogs up to 45 or so and 5mg for dogs 45 +. As for the liquid I have no idea as I haven’t researched that. It sucks that no one replied to your question. I hope you were able to find the answer if they flew already. Good luck!
