There are two main types of cannabis oil: those that are CBD-based and THC-based. While they are both extracted from the cannabis sativa plant, the oils vary greatly. THC-based cannabis oil comes from your common strains that can be purchased at your local dispensary. Tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, is one of the main compounds in the average cannabis flower. This compound is responsible for the euphoric feeling commonly associated with cannabis when inhaled or ingested.
CBD is one of over 60 compounds found in cannabis that belong to a class of ingredients called cannabinoids. Until recently, THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) was getting most of the attention because it’s the ingredient in cannabis that produces mind-altering effects in users. But CBD is also present in high concentrations — and the medical world is realizing that its list of medical benefits continues to grow.
See, hemp fields are simply fields of cannabis plants that grow under conditions in which the male plants have been allowed to fertilize the female plants. When you separate the male and female plants, the females can’t be pollinated, so they produce lots of THC (in what is known as “resinous THC form”) as a result. But when the female is allowed to be pollinated, she barely produces any THC. In fact, the happily sexed up female produces less than 1% THC.
My husband has RSD and we are considering CBD oil -= I would ask at Hempmed because the spray won't have enough in it. Our dgt';s friend has ovarian cancer and it is shrinking her tumors but the spray would never have been enough. I would get CBD oil and check with Hempmeds to see what they suggest. It isn't cheap but it does work. LOW dose Naltrexone about 4.5 mg is very helpful for RSD and is usually used for getting people off of drugs but is working on turning off the glial cells that surround the nerve that is causing the nerve to scream in pain. We are also using PeaPure that is out of the Netherlands and we are seeing a response, even though small. His other leg touched the painful leg without causing more severe pain. That is progress. We also are using Poison Ivy Cream through Meadowlake Farms that has helped the burning surface pain. Change your diet and get rid of Gluten and Sugar, anything that causes inflammation. This is to allow your own body to work. Absolutely do not use any pain killers as it will turn up your pain. all the Hydrocodone, etc causes neural inflammation and so it will keep cascading higher your pain. Hope this is helpful. Mary
Yet another benefit of essential fatty acids is mood health. Several studies have shown that Omega 3 supplementation can improve symptoms in bipolar disorder. Others have found improvements in. This could be because essential fatty acids are critical to maintaining brain function.  Endocannabinoids are also essential for mood. The endocannabinoid system regulates the release of neurotransmitters, some of which play major roles in conditions like depression and anxiety. As mentioned previously, endocannabinoids are made from fat. Consuming extra essential fatty acids gives your body the ability to produce these lipids.

The first identified and best-known cannabinoid is THC (delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol). THC has the most significant psychoactive effect of the cannabinoids. The ratio of THC to other cannabinoids varies from strain to strain. While THC has been the focus of breeding and research due to its various psychoactive and therapeutic effects, non-psychoactive cannabinoids have physiologic effects that can be therapeutic.

HI Giselle, No hemp oil by law has to have less than .03% THC in it, the product that I use has only a trace amount at .002 and we are looking to remove the entire molecule, but because THC is a part of the DNA of the plant it is extremely difficult to remove it all. The company that I use has a two-part of extraction process. This will NOT affect his work, and if he has to test, what we have discovered so far is that this product is not showing up on any pee tests. You can learn more on my site which has been referenced in the show notes. Hemp works wonders for mental clarity and mood issues, there are lots of papers on this area, search NIH or Pubmed or google scholar. Happy to chat more, reach out. Cheers. Lane
It’s best to begin with low doses of marijuana oil, especially if you have little past experience with cannabis. Rather than taking one big dose, it’s better to take smaller doses throughout the day to gauge where your comfort level is in using marijuana oil for the first time. When you find a comfortable dose, stick with it for the first few times or until you’re ready for a heavier-hitting effect.

Cannaoil in your smoothie? Yes! Due to its reputation as a superfood and the creamy texture that results from blending coconut oil, it has become a popular addition to smoothies. There are a lot of recipes out there but you can experiment by adding a tablespoon of cannabis coconut oil or less if your infusion is strong (5-10 mg is a good starting point) to your favorite smoothie recipe.

This is one of the safest ways to consume your medication, but understand that the effects from eaten cannabis may be more pronounced and onset of the effects will be delayed by an hour or more and typically last longer than inhalation. Using edible cannabis effectively will usually take some experimentation with particular product types and dosage. Digesting cannabis also metabolizes the cannabinoids somewhat differently and can produce different subjective effects, depending on the individual.
Topicals don’t make it into your bloodstream, just into your cannabinoid receptors, and can be great for localized pain. Under the Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulations (ACMPR) in Canada, licensed producers of medical cannabis can’t currently manufacture or distribute topicals – but with the distribution of oils, it’s possible for you to make your own (with carrier oils and other bases for creams.)
After reading this article on selfhacked a few months ago I decided to try Elixinol for my anxiety and OCD. It helped my anxiety and OCD some, which was encouraging, since no other supplement ever really worked for me. About a month or so later, a teacher I work with gave me a bottle of an organic, full spectrum cbd oil from www. hempworx . com/products so far I’ve been using this oil for 3 months and I’m pretty much OCD free and my anxiety has been drastically reduced. I’m not sure why this other brand has worked so much better for me, but very happy that it does. I thank selfhacked for writing this article, because I had never even heard of CBD oil until I read about it here. Now I’m mostly OCD free after 12 years and my anxiety doesn’t even bother me now. So if you have OCD or chronic anxiety, definitely give this a try. I take 10 to 15 drops twice a day.
NIDA is currently collaborating with the National Institute on Neurological Disorders and Stroke to evaluate CBD in animal models of epilepsy in order to understand the underlying mechanisms and optimize the conditions under which CBD may treat seizure disorders, and determine whether it works synergistically with other anti-seizure medications. In addition, clinical trials are currently underway by GW Pharmaceuticals, testing the efficacy of Epidiolex, a purified CBD extract, for treatment of pediatric epilepsy.
CBD oil is similar to other products in that it is capable of being “watered down.” Some companies will try to eke out a higher profit margin by fooling their customers into thinking they’re getting more for less. It is important to pay attention to the concentration level of the CBD oil you’re buying in order to ensure you’re getting what you’re paying for. Although concentrations of CBD can vary quite a bit across the broad range of CBD products, a quality product will start off having somewhere between 250mg to 1,000mg per fluid ounce. This matters because if you were to purchase a 4 ounce bottle that contained 250mg of CBD, your concentration would be a mere 62.5 mg of CBD per ounce – hardly enough to reap the full benefits of CBD. It’s always important to look at the concentration level of the CBD you’re buying.

CBD hemp oil has been proven in clinical trials to benefit humans and animals alike, as we both have endocannabinoid systems and are receptive to the chemical compound. Current studies also show that it is impossible to overdose on the substance. There is no need to worry if your dog takes a larger dose of CBD than anticipated – it is highly unlikely to have any negative effects, making it a safe and easy alternative treatment for your pet.

For the record, for all the super sensitive people out there, I want to comment that CBD oil CAN get you high. NO REALLY. It can. And I’m talking about Elixinol. the recommended brand here, not some random adulterated stuff, not some high cbd marijuana, actual purified, tested, industrial hemp oil. I have chronic fatigue syndrome and experienced with my own body all the same effects from Elixinol, that I have gotten from eating a weed cookie (less intense, but still unpleasant). For me these side effects include full body convulsions and tremors lasting over an hour, anxiety and panic, disturbing disassociative and repetitive/confusing thought patterns, cottonmouth, and intense emotions and weeping. This was from 90mg CBD content at once. Which is more than recommended on the bottle but still well within the realm of a reasonable dose. Like an edible the effects took many hours to kick in, and then the high came on fast. I am also largely intolerant of caffeine and alcohol. However I never have any noticeable effects from most vitamins and herbal products. Not against CBD. Just saying it is possible, even if no one believes you.
CBD interacts with the human endocannabinoid system (ECS) and has many health benefits, from proven anti-inflammatory properties to potential cancer treatments. CBD oil will not get you high because it does not contain THC or any other psychoactive compounds. Supplementing with CBD oil improves homeostasis and can be accurately dosed with a couple of drops under the tongue.
Hemp oil is an abundant source of alpha-linolenic acid. Alpha-linolenic acid is an omega-3 fatty acid that is essential to proper organ function. It is similar to the omega-3 fatty acids found in fish oil, and can help prevent heart disease, arthritis and depression, according to the University of Maryland Medical Center. It can also help reduce low density lipoprotein cholesterol, the "bad" cholesterol that clogs arteries.
Before we go further, let me address that unspoken question, "Will hemp oil make me high?" No, it won't. Hemp oil is pressed from the seed of the hemp plant, and this seed does not contain THC, or tetrahydrocannabinol, which is the psychoactive component of marijuana. However, because of this concern, many hemp oil suppliers provide transparent certifications to assure buyers of the lack of THC content in their products. Test Pledge is one such resource, wherein "producers and processors of hemp oil and hemp nut must commission THC tests on each and every lot of hemp nut and oil, performed by a properly accredited laboratory according to the official Health Canada protocol."
Vape oil: CBD vape oil is used for vaping CBD. This requires the use of an e-cigarette or vape pen, which can have side effects when chemicals are heated to high temperatures. There are also CBD waxes available that are used for dabbing the cannabis compound. This also requires heating a small amount of the wax and using a dabbing pen. This isn’t recommended for beginners, as it’s usually a higher concentration of CBD.
I encourage you to educate yourself about which foods are more alkaline forming. There are many acid-alkaline diet books and food charts available online that you can study. With a juicer take 1/3 apple, 1/3 carrot, 1/3 celery and make juice to drink everyday. This will help raise the Ph level in the body. Eating seeds from two apples everyday will give you a good daily dose of B17. B17 itself has had a good record of treating cancer. Many people who use cannabis oil to treat their cancers didn't change anything, and the oil still worked. If its a matter of life and death, changing your diet is an easy step to take to help cure your cancer. I always suggest doing so.
Thanks to the molecule tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and its mind-bending effects, the cannabis plant has been famous (or infamous) for thousands of years. Now, though, another molecule found only in the cannabis plant—cannabidiol or CBD—is rapidly growing in popularity thanks to its myriad medical benefits. In fact, CBD is quickly becoming the reason that a whole new generation, both old and young alike, are trying cannabis for the first time.
If you’re overwhelmed by the wide variety of CBD products, you are not alone. Each method delivers CBD to your body in a different way, which affects what it can be used for and how often you’ll want to take it. Adding to that confusion is the fact that each of our bodies responds differently to CBD, meaning there is no one-size-fits-all recommendation. That’s why we’ve put together a guide to help you design a cannabinoid treatment plan that fits your individual health goals — whether you’re choosing your first CBD product, or just optimizing your current routine.
Pay attention to THC. Swallowed products are first metabolized by your liver before circulating through your body (first-pass metabolism). If your CBD product contains THC (i.e it’s a “full-spectrum CBD”), it could be converted to 11-hydroxy-THC, which is a strong intoxicant. Many people find that CBD helps counterbalance the “high” associated with THC, but if you are sensitive to THC, look for CBD from a hemp source.
Research shows that the effects of cannabis may help to protect the brain from the damage that is caused by a stroke. This is done by reducing the size of the area that was affected by the stroke. There has been research that has shown neuroprotective effects from cannabis that protects the brain in the case of other traumatic events, like concussions.

I am curios about using your product. I have hyperparathyoidism that persists after having a parathyoidectomy. Are you aware of any benefits related to PTH levels and related calcium levels. Both remain high and I am suffering from recurrent kidney stones and now some bone loss. I am trying to avoid a do-over surgery to try to find elusive parathyroid tissue and also avoid bisphosphonates and Prolia.
When your cannaoil or cannabutter is done infusing, remove any plant matter by carefully straining it through cheesecloth (available in the cooking section of stores like Target or Walmart) or a coffee filter. Pour your infusion into a container and you’re done! Be sure to put your cannabutter in the fridge to harden, but cannaoils are fine to store on the counter. The most important thing is to keep it in an airtight container (mason jars work great) in a cool, dark space.

It’s also nearly impossible to overdose on CBD. Kind of like water, dark chocolate, and steamed kale, it has an unusually low level of toxicity. In the last 6,000 years, CBD hasn’t killed anyone via overdose, which is particularly impressive when you compare it to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), such as ibuprofen, Advil and Tylenol, which can wreak havoc on your gut lining, liver and kidneys. Or aspirin (salicylic acid) which kills over 1,000 people every year. Or alcohol, which kills over 110,000 people a year. No one’s ever died from CBD.

As for phytocannabinoid-rich hemp oil, due to the presence of the hemp plant’s cannabinoids there are many additional uses and benefits with practically zero side effects. The most common use of this type of hemp oil is for chronic pain management, but many people also use it to treat some symptoms of cancer, among other diseases and conditions. Even the Food and Drug Administration recently approved a new CBD-based prescription medication.
Start with a small dose and work your way up if needed. Sometimes, a standard CBD oil dose is determined by your body weight, but this rule doesn’t work for everyone. Some people are more sensitive to cannabis compounds than others. For this reason, I recommend starting with a low dose of 10 to 20 milligrams to see how your body reacts. If you feel like you aren’t feeling the positive effects after a few days at that dose, then slowly increase the dose until you find what’s right for you.

Bad thing is that people remain massively uninformed about cannabis and cannabis derivatives. The average person doesn’t know what CBD is, they just equate cannabis with getting high and lazy stoner stereotypes. The gossip he speaks of then turns into gossiping about him and how he’s stoned all day, that’s why he’s so happy. I have had 100% positive effects from cbd oil. My anxiety feels like it’s under control in a healthy way for the first time in 20 years. I take 12mg 3 times daily. The only negative things about it worth mentioning are that it’s kind of pricey, and that people have noticed that I’m acting differently and are gossiping about what could have improved my mood so much https://cbdreamers.com/cbd-oil-for-anxiety-and-de…

I am in a pain management program and I was told that they test for cannabiniols across the board so even though there is no THC I could still test positive and be kicked out of the program. This is so unfair because CBC has been the best thing for PTSD anxiety and depression instead they would rather me be on multiple drugs with multiple bad side effects. Even though it’s legal in KY we re still in the dack ages. Any thoughts or help on this I would greatly appreciate how to get around it.
Sub-lingual CBD drops have helped me enormously with sleeping and with radiation damage pain. I have a cancer that spread from the pelvic area to my sacrum and sciatic nerve and whilst the chemo and radiotherapy saved my life I have been taking MST (morphine derivative) for nerve pain ever since. My tumours are presently all quiet and last March I decided I wanted to stop taking the pain relief drugs, fearing dementia. CBD oil was recommended by my son who has arthritis and, for me, it really works. It’s so good to read an article that isn’t put out by a CBD sales site – I wish it could be properly prescribed and regulated (I’m in the UK) in order to have confidence with purity and dosage.
According to the case report, it was charted by the girl’s oncologist that the patient “suffers from terminal malignant disease. She has been treated to the limits of available therapy … no further active intervention will be undertaken.” She was then placed in a palliative home care and told to prepare for her disease to overwhelm her body. She was expected to suffer a stroke within the next two months.
The ugly truth is that the US National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), the agency that oversees 85 percent of the world’s research on controlled substances, is on record stating that its institutional policy is to reject any and all medical marijuana research. “As the National Institute on Drug Abuse, our focus is primarily on the negative consequences of marijuana use,” a NIDA spokesperson told The New York Times in 2010. “We generally do not fund research focused on the potential beneficial medical effects of marijuana.”
Cross-sectional studies have found a direct correlation between more severe PTSD symptomatology and increased motivation to use cannabis for coping purposes, especially among patients with difficulties in emotional regulation or stress tolerance. When using cannabis treatment, military veterans with PTSD reported reduced anxiety and insomnia and improved coping ability. (5)
For this study, 24 people with social anxiety disorder received either 600 milligrams (mg) of CBD or a placebo an hour and a half before performing a simulated public speaking test. Additionally, 12 other people with social anxiety disorder performed the same test without receiving any CBD treatment. Results revealed that pre-treatment with CBD significantly reduced anxiety, cognitive impairment, and discomfort while participants were delivering their speech.
These creams are also used by those suffering from arthritic symptoms. According to this study, CBD could relieve painful arthritic symptoms without the negative side effects that sometimes accompany the use of pharmaceutical drugs. The study reports that by using a topical cannabis oil cream, the metabolic system is bypassed thereby increasing absorption, assimilation, and efficiency of CBD.
Interleukin-1β – levels significantly increased with experimental colitis. CBD was shown to decrease levels. IL-1β is shown to have potent pro-inflammatory activity and thus heightens the inflammatory response that leads to intestinal injury. IL-1β amplifies the production of inflammatory leukocytes (immune system cells), resulting in an increase of inflammation.

Extraction: The method by which CBD oil is processed from hemp plants can be very telling. Some manufacturers extract and process the oil using toxic materials like propane or butane; in most cases, these oils are cheaply priced. Safer extraction and processing agents include ethanol, which cleans the hemp plant of unwanted toxins; and supercritical carbon dioxide extraction, which strips harmful materials from the plant by changing the carbon dioxide’s temperature and pressure settings.
My skin is starting to wrinkle, and I heard that hemp oil can be used to help stop these effects. Your article had some great information about oil like this, and I liked how you said that full spectrum hemp oil is extremely non-comodogenic, meaning it doesn’t clog pores. It also has lipids mirror the lipids that our skin produces naturally, so I’ll keep this in mind when considering hemp oil for my skin care routine.

Hi, I was wondering if you know of adverse effects of hemp oil? I was all set to make my own hair oil using hemp oil, until I just read that a lady who was consuming it started to get a receding hairline and her period also stopped. That’s worrying stuff, so I’m not sure if my hair would be harmed by using it topically. Perhaps more research is needed into this substance.

Good to know: Earleywine suggests you drop a dose of tincture under your tongue and hold it there for 30 seconds before swallowing, or apply a single spray of the tincture on the inside of your cheeks. Doing so speeds up the effects of the CBD. If you put the tincture on the top of your tongue, you’re likely to swallow it sooner, sending it into your digestive tract, which will absorb the CBD more slowly. If you add a CBD tincture to foods or drinks, it could take up to 30 minutes for it to enter your bloodstream.
Phytocannabinoid-rich hemp oil has a higher concentration of CBD compared to other cannabinoids. When ingested, CBD interacts with our body’s endocannabinoid system. This triggers the body to consume more of its own cannabinoids, which directly influences our immune system—where the majority of CBD receptors are found. This helps reduce inflammation and pain and promotes a healthier immune system.

CBD – or cannabidiol – is a type of cannabinoid, a chemical that’s naturally found in cannabis plants, which is where concern generally starts to arise. Before going any further, it’s important to note that while CBD comes from cannabis, it doesn’t create a high, because on its own it cannot; that’s caused by another cannabinoid, THC, which we’ll get to later.
My husband is 52 and has brain atrophy. There is no history of Dementia in his family and they haven’t found anything else wrong with him. Trying to save his life but Ativan is the only thing that works to keep him semi-calm so he can be in a facility that can care for him 24/7. What CBD oil, if any, do you recommend and how much should he take with the Ativan at first to eventually be able to get him off that awful medication?
In the United States, we're in the middle of a cannabis revolution. Our nation is slowly waking up to the truth that cannabis, what was once dubiously considered a dangerous psychoactive substance, is not only safe but extremely versatile in its medical benefits. This has been reflected in the sales of legal cannabis products, which is expected to grow from $6.6 billion in 2016 to $24.1 billion in 2025.

Cannabis comes in many varieties, roughly divided between Sativas that originated near the equator and Indicas that come from northern latitudes, though modern breeding programs have created a wide range of hybrids. Each variety has its own cannabinoid and terpene profile and subtly different effects. Whether you use Sativa-dominant, Indica-dominant, or a Hybrid it makes a difference.
Take CBD oil to help treat your bowel disease. Some scientists claim that CBD and THC interact in a productive way with the bodily system that controls gut function. Because of this, people with bowel diseases, such as Crohn’s Disease, sometimes benefit from using CBD oil. If you have a bowel disease, consider taking CBD oil. It may also alleviate some of your pain.[12]
I have numerous auto-immune diseases, including Fibromyalgia! Been ill for about 35 years. Started taking hemp oil/cbd oil about 2 weeks ago. Where I purchased it lady told me to put and hold under my tongue for 10 seconds then swallow. Didn’t see much change, then researched and found out that I should have been keeping under tongue for 90 seconds. I did this and have seen lots of improvement! Research showed that when u hold it under tongue for that amount of time, it bypasses digestive system and goes straight to your bloodstream to brain! Just for the record, it showed that this way of consuming the oil is the best way for best results! Iv noticed that I am forgetting to take my pain meds and am not needing them like usual! I’m sleeping better, and am more relaxed! This is my experience and thought it might help someone else like me, with so many issues! Only been taking for 2 weeks! Remember knowledge is power, so do your research before taking to get best results!💜

CBD interacts with and helps regulate the human body’s endocannabinoid system, something you probably never learned about in school. This system regulates balance in the body, which means it affects a variety of functions like sleep, immune responses, mood, and more. When the endocannabinoid system is in balance, you’re likely to function – and feel – your best!

LA performs a host of functions in the body. It is essential for alerting the immune system in response to a stressor or pathogen. This leads to inflammation, but this necessary. Omega – 6 is also required for energy production, safeguarding from allergies. It also keeps the heart tissue functioning properly. Omega – 6 also helps the body recover from fatigue.
Everything we’ve been discussing — the pharmacokinetics of cannabidiol — is a complicated subject that scientists are still actively piecing together. There are no established guidelines for the best way to use CBD to achieve your health goals. Prepare for a truly unique experience that deserves patient and loving experimentation. We wish you success on your journey!
This oil is derived from the Cannabis sativa plant that can contain both CBD and THC in varying concentrations. The clear drawback of cannabis oil is that it cannot be purchased outside of a state that has not legalized the sale of cannabis. Cannabis oil can also contain higher amounts of THC, which could be problematic for those not looking for the psychoactive effects of cannabis oil.

There’s only one reason not to give your dog hemp oil and that’s if you’re feeding your dog a lot of chicken. Hemp oil with chicken is a bad combination because both are high in polyunsaturated fats. This can cause an imbalance in the fats in your dog’s diet. Instead, use flaxseed oil or whole oily fish like sardines or mackerel to round out the diet when you feed chicken.
On average, hemp seed contains around 30% oil by weight. The precious oil rich in essential fatty acids is extracted by cold pressing. This method is not unique to hemp seed oil and similar to extracting black onion seed oil. Cold pressing requires the seeds to be de-shelled; the outer husk must be removed. Then, after some scientific chilling and squeezing, hemp seed oil is extracted.

Topicals enter the skin and body tissues and allow for direct application and relief of affected areas for allergic skin reactions, muscle strain, inflammation, swelling, etc. Both THC and CBD have been found to provide pain relief and reduce inflammation – but do your research on your particular condition to find out what would work best for you – and, as always, experiment slowly.
From what I understand, CBD derived from the hemp plant does not have the side effects mentioned above, other than possibly to help reduce the amount of Coumadin/Warfarin needed – either way, a patient on this drug needs to be monitored and regularly tested anyway with their doctor. CBD derived from the marijuana plant (will contain THC) may have them, I do not know, maybe that’s why you mention them. One of the many reasons people take Hemp CBD is that it does NOT have the side effects! People take the Hemp version to help with feelings of fatigue, irritability & anxiousness, it does cause it! It helps to bring the body into balance.

Hemp oil is also perfect for being drizzled on rice or grain salads such as tabouli, used as a dip for toast points, or as a part of blended sauces such as hemp hummus, hemp pesto, or even homemade mayonnaise. Add a small amount to a smoothie or drizzle it on top of hummus. Hemp oil can be used in the marinade of fish or chicken, such as combining honey, soy sauce, hemp oil, rice wine vinegar, ginger, and hot sauce for grilled salmon.
Endocannabinoids are organically produced by the human body, generated by the endocannabinoid system. Endocannabinoids have been found to help in the regulation of sleep, pain and the responses of the immune system. Cannabis scientists have been investigating the role of physiological cannabinoids in tissue recovery and disease. It is fascinating that the endocannabinoids activate the same receptors as the psychoactive THC.

Cannabidiol is a non-psychoactive cannabis compound that doesn’t give users the feeling that they are high or stoned. Instead, it is known to have medicinal qualities. Contrary to the image of men being the predominant consumers of cannabis, this survey found that 55% of the CBD users were women, while men preferred the THC-dominant products. Brightfield Group, which helped conduct the survey, studies consumption patterns and demand trends and is committed to providing accurate data in the cannabis industry which seems to be rife with unsupported claims.
To date, 23 states and the District of Columbia have passed laws allowing marijuana to be used for a variety of medical conditions. Fifteen additional states have enacted laws intended to allow access to CBD oil and/or high-CBD strains of marijuana. Interest in the potential therapeutic effects of CBD has been growing rapidly, partially in response to media attention surrounding the use of CBD oil in young children with intractable seizure disorders including Dravet syndrome and Lennox-Gastaut syndrome. While there are promising preliminary data, the scientific literature is currently insufficient to either prove or disprove the efficacy and safety of CBD in patients with epilepsy.i and further clinical evaluation is warranted.
