Unrefined has a similar meaning to “cold-pressed” in that the oil is processed in minimal heat. But it also means that the oil has not been bleached or deodorized. A lot of unrefined oils are also called “virgin”, “extra virgin”, “raw”, or “pure”. This also means that unrefined oil has a much shorter shelf life and the oil can start smelling odd when it gets closer to its expiration date.Refined oil, on the other hand, has been bleached and/or deodorized. That is why refined oil has a much longer shelf life. If you’re ever in doubt, try observing and smelling the oil. If the oil is clear, doesn’t taste like anything, and doesn’t have any scent, it is most likely refined.
The dried flower or bud from the manicured, mature female plant is the most widely consumed form of cannabis in the U.S. Elsewhere in the world, extracts or concentrates of the cannabis plant are more commonly used. Concentrates are made from cannabinoid-rich glandular trichomes, which are found in varying amounts on cannabis flowers, leaves and stalks. The flowers of a mature female plant contain the most trichomes.
I recommend CBD International to everyone I know who is fighting cancer including the Hospice team taking care of my daughter. All the different nurses always ask, they have many patients asking. If I can save anyone the three months it took me to find you, that time saved could save a life. When you find yourself in a situation like a cancer diagnosis, you are searching for something to help, you really don't know what you are getting. My visits to the medical marijuana shops in Southern California left me frustrated, they are not knowledgeable and kept steering me to edibles and hash oil and trying to find the correct treatment was for me, about the only thing I could do for my daughter that might help her and the only thing she was willing to try. From the very first contact on your website, to the questionnaire to all correspondence, so timely and the integrity and kindness you and your company have shown me, I can't praise you enough. You guys are the real deal.
CBD (Cannabidiol) oil is a a non psychoactive cannabinoid derived from hemp plants mainly for medical use. CBD oils are known to provide safe and effective relief even for patients who suffer from seizures, epilepsy, or cancer. Even though CBD shows much promise, it is still a largely untapped industry. It is rapidly growing because of its growing legal status. Since cultivation in the US is still in its infancy, most CBD oil is imported into the US and then examined for purity and quality before being sold commercially. The regulation behind the CBD oil products are still largely grey and customers should be very cautious of buying products without proper guidance. Instead, CBD acts as an agonist on an entirely different receptor called the 5-HT1A receptor, and this is how CBD actually works as an antidepressant with anti-anxiety and neuroprotective effects. It also serves as what is called an “allosteric modulator” of your opioid receptors, which is how it works to remove pain and reduce the effects of chronic inflammation. Other positive medical effects of CBD (there’s over 60 of them, if you care to read up on them here) are due to increased intracellular calcium release and agonism of another receptor called the PPAR-γ receptor.
CBD is one of over 60 compounds found in cannabis that belong to a class of ingredients called cannabinoids. Until recently, THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) was getting most of the attention because it’s the ingredient in cannabis that produces mind-altering effects in users. But CBD is also present in high concentrations — and the medical world is realizing that its list of medical benefits continues to grow.
My mother was thinking about trying CBD because she heard it would help with her diabetes and I was wondering how good is CBD at controlling sugar levels as my mother has tried multiple insulin drugs and they might work for a while but then stop working from what I understand. She got her diabetes from the Growth Hormone Drug back in 2009 and she also got some type of rare mouth Tumor which the doctor did the surgery to remove it wrong and caused it to spread. Will this work at controlling her sugar levels as she gets both high and lows, for example, she once had her sugar levels so high that it was unreadable and the doctors were amazed that she was still alive plus she also gets lows sometimes. Also, because of diabetes, she has neuropathy where she is losing feeling in her toes and does not feel the heat from hot products when she picks them up, will this product also help with the neuropathy and any remaining tumor?
Dosing the oil slowly over the first 30 days allows the body to build up a tolerance to it slowly. For people that experience a "high" side effect or extreme tiredness during the day, you can slightly reduce your dosage during the day hours and slightly increase your dosage before bed. This will help in gaining quality of sleep plus it helps build your tolerance while you sleep. We all have different tolerances for any medication.
Katie, as usual you’ve done a wonderful job making a difference! Excellent podcast Lane!! I have been using CBD/hemp oil daily for about 6 months with what was initially an aide to my basal cell carcinoma therapy. It has done wonders for the resulting inflammation and associated pain as well as bringing my overall system back into balance. I am also a fitness fanatic incorporating a daily regime that involves serious gym time for both resistance training and cardio activities. The oil completely removed any lactic acid buildup that I have dealt with weekly from the intensity of my workouts along with greatly aiding in the recovery process. PrimeMyBody does have the best product, in my opinion, and I am blessed to have discovered the best kept secret in plant-based health and wellness!
Most oils come in bottles with small pipettes or syringes with measurements on them. Remember that it takes as long as 1-2 hours for effects to kick in, and by taking another dose before the height of the first effects, you’re risking some side effects. If the oils are in capsule format, measurement is much easier as you just take the recommended amount of capsules throughout your day.
Consume CBD oil if you want to quit smoking cigarettes. While consuming CBD oil, people sometimes report craving nicotine less. Withdrawal symptoms like anxiety and mood swings also aren’t as severe for many people when they take CBD oil. If you’re struggling to quit smoking cigarettes, try using CBD oil to potentially diminish your cravings and withdrawal symptoms.
As noted in the previous section, CBD oil prices vary significantly by brand. The best practice for most is to determine a per-milligram budget for CBD oil, as well as a maximum price for the entire bottle. For example, you might decide that 10 cents per milligram or less is a reasonable budget; and that $45 (for a 450-mg concentration, based on the budget) is a maximum bottle price. Also, if ordering online, be sure to include potential shipping costs.

It is clear that CBD oil has a number of functions in pain relief and regulation. However, there are a few arguments that are worth considering. One is the use of CBD oil on children. Although proven to be a player in autism-symptom mitigation, the influence of CBD oil on the developing brain has yet to be deemed unintrusive. It is still not recommended that CBD be used extensively on children. The recommended dosage of CBD oil for children and adults, both, must be determined in consultation with a doctor.
Inhalation technique. Based on studies with THC, inhalation can get anywhere from 2-56% of this molecule into your bloodstream based on your inhalation technique. Try this: use the vaporizer for the first half of your inhalation, then finish your inhalation with a deep breath of fresh air — get those molecules deep in there! (This technique will also minimize irritation if the vapor is a bit too hot, by mixing in cooler air.) On exhale, any vapor that you can see is lost, so instead of exhaling fully, start a partial exhale until you see vapor — then inhale all the way back in and repeat a few times until you see less vapor on the exhale.
By 1942, cannabis was removed from the U.S. Pharmacopoeia because of persistent concerns about its potential to cause harm. In 1951, Congress passed the Boggs Act, which included cannabis with narcotic drugs for the first time. In 1970, with the passage of the Controlled Substances Act, cannabis was classified as a Schedule I drug, giving it no accepted medicinal use.
Later, Queen Victoria’s physician and one of the world’s leading doctors of that era, Sir Russell Reynolds, prescribed medicinal cannabis for the Queen’s menstrual cramps, for which CBD still works fantastically today. When writing about medical marijuana in the first edition of the British medical journal The Lancet, Reynolds proclaimed that cannabis is “one of the most valuable medicines we possess.” Another widely hailed physician at the time, Sir William Osler, used CBD for migraines with excellent results.
Although hemp and marijuana are essentially different cultivars of the same plant – Cannabis sativa L – marijuana has been cultivated to concentrate high levels of THC (frequently as much as 18%), in the plant’s flowering tops, whereas hemp, which is primarily grown in Europe to make clothing, paper, biofuels, bioplastics, nutritional supplements, cosmetics, and foods, contains less than 0.3% THC.
Hi Diane, how did you go on with the CBD oil please. If it worked how long before you saw any results. I'm scared of flaring everything. Nerve damage across buttocks from a surgeon who found the nerve stuck to the bulge during a laminectomy operation and prised it off. I haven't sat for 5 years and getting worse. A muscle in my buttock is now throbbing constantly and causing pain to the muscle above. I've only started taking it today but the muscle pain is still as painful. Does it take a while for it to work. Only started on low dose to see what happens. Thank you Lyn
